In Korea there are approximately 30,000 units of Escalator in operation and most of Escalator accidents have been resulted from aged driving axle’s and gear’s damages. Regretfully there is no system to control, so it’s critical situation to prepare for countermeasure. Total numbers of escalator accident during 2010 to 2014 are 399, which occupy 70%. Among above, 20 persons were injured in 2012 and 27 persons in 2013 for escalator reverse driving.
